Important

If you are in crisis, experiencing severe symptoms, or unsure if breathwork is appropriate, please consult a licensed clinician before using Phoenix Breath.

Phoenix Breath is a guided breathwork and wellness experience created by Arise Health. By using Phoenix Breath, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

1. Who This Is For

Phoenix Breath is designed for adults (18+) seeking to support their nervous system regulation through guided breathwork. It is best suited for:

  • People experiencing everyday stress, tension, or overwhelm
  • Those curious about breathwork as a wellness practice
  • Individuals looking to build resilience and self-regulation skills
  • Anyone seeking a calming, private practice space

2. When to Go Slower

Breathwork can bring up physical or emotional sensations, including:

  • Tingling or numbness in hands or face
  • Lightheadedness or dizziness
  • Emotional releases (crying, laughter, anger)
  • Muscle tension or cramping
  • Temperature changes

These sensations are often normal, but you may pause or stop at any time.

Your participation is voluntary and at your own risk.

3. When to Avoid Breathwork

Do not use Phoenix Breath if you are currently experiencing:

  • Panic attacks
  • Acute trauma responses
  • Dissociative episodes
  • Thoughts of self-harm or suicide
  • Medical emergencies

If you are in crisis, please seek immediate support from:

  • National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 988
  • Crisis Text Line: Text HOME to 741741
  • Your local emergency services: 911
  • A licensed mental health professional

Please talk to a licensed medical provider before using Phoenix Breath if you:

  • Are pregnant
  • Have a history of cardiovascular issues (e.g., heart disease, high blood pressure)
  • Have epilepsy, seizures, or fainting episodes
  • Have serious respiratory conditions (e.g., severe asthma, COPD)
  • Have been recently hospitalized for a psychiatric condition
  • Are taking medications that affect breathing or heart rate

4. If You Feel Overwhelmed

If you feel overwhelmed during a session:

  • Slow down or pause the session
  • Return to normal, gentle breathing
  • Open your eyes and orient to your surroundings
  • Place your feet on the ground
  • Choose a shorter session next time

If you experience severe or persistent adverse effects, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional.

Inside the app, you always have tools built in. During any session you can tap Soften to gradually ease the intensity, or end the session at any time with no penalty. You don't have to finish — stopping is always a valid choice.

If you are currently in treatment or taking medication, please consult your healthcare provider before using Phoenix Breath.
